We're good friends; he's a really wonderful guy - a true artist. He can get a piece of material and transform it. I'm always amazed just sitting and watching him work." - Abbie Cornish

Voice Work
Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole
Role: Nyra
Director: Zac Snyder
Before working with Zac Snyder on Sucker Punch, Abbie Cornish voiced an owl character named Nyra in the animated fantasy Legend of the Guardians. She along with regular co-star Hugo Weaving, Helen Mirren, Emilie de Ravin and Ryan Kwanten lend their voices to the film due out September 24, 2010.
Soren, a young barn owl, is kidnapped by owls of St. Aggie's, ostensibly an orphanage, where owlets are brainwashed into becoming soldiers. He and his new friends escape to the island of Ga'Hoole, to assist its noble, wise owls who fight the army being created by the wicked rulers of St. Aggie's. The film is based on the first three books in the series.

Music
Blades
Blades Of Hades or simply Blades since 2006, are an Australian hip hop group based in Newcastle. Since forming in the late 1990s they have released three albums, "Blades Of Hades" (2003), "This Installment" (2006), and "Shadow Art" (2008). The group took its name from Greek mythology, where Hades was the Gatekeeper of the Underworld. Known for their hardcore style, politically conscious lyrics and dark beats, Blades have developed a strong following overseas, having performed at many festivals in Europe, including Germany's Mass Hysteria in Hamburg. In 2008, they were the first independent Australian hip hop act to perform at the Glastonbury Festival in the United Kingdom.
Abbie Cornish, who used to be involved with Blades' Kid Lyrical, has been involved with the group since mid-2000s. She is known to drop in and contribute to Blades under the names MC Dusk. Check out the album "Shadow Art", on which Abbie's vocals are prominently featured. In January 2010, Abbie appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and spoke of her continued involvement with Blades. It is unknown at this stage whether or not she will appear in the upcoming Blades album - but we'll keep you posted.
