Bond 22 Casting Update

We decided we would make one last post concerning all of the James Bond rumors as Abbie Cornish was linked to be the new “Bond girl” since late 2006.

If you have not already heard, the two Bond girls for the still tenitively untitled Bond 22 have been casted and confirmed. Picking up where Casino Royale left off, the new James Bond film will see newcomer and British actress Gemma Arterton play MI6 Agent Fields. Arterton is best known from her performance in the comedy St. Trinian’s of this past year. Playing the lead love interest is Ukrainian born model/actress Olga Kurylenko. She plays Camille a woman who “challenges Bond and helps him come to terms with the emotional consequences of Vesper’s betrayal.” Kurylenko received the certificate of excellence award at the 2006 Brooklyn International Film Festival for her performance in L’Annulaire and is best known for the films Paris, je t’aime and this past December’s Hitman.

It’s good to know the official casting and hopefully put the Bond rumor train to rest.

Lots of New Magazine Scans

First off, Happy belated 2008 everyone! We hope you all had good Holidays! Riikka has returned from her trip and I have sorted out my computer problems so we’re ready to resume with the updates at Abbie Cornish Online. News wise Abbie-land is still quiet. But I do have an amazing update for you today! Riikka scanned some new articles a few weeks ago, and we also received some scans from Hannah (thanks!) so we have tons of new Abbie material for this update.

Recently Abbie was featured on the cover of two mags - Sunday Life (Australia) from November 4, 2007 - everything here was totally new! How about that for some great news! We get a new (gorgeous) photoshoot and fantastic article. Also a cover story; Sunday Times Style (UK) from October 28, 2007. Now while the pictures are used from the recent T Style spread the brief article was a new find, and last but not least she made the “best of the year” list on Who (Australia) in December. Check out all of this in the gallery, and happy reading!

Happy Holidays!

As Riikka is heading out of the country for the holidays, and I’m experiencing technical problems and celebrating with my family as well, Abbie Cornish Online will likely not be updated until early January - unless there will be major news to post. We will not be coming online much and will be unable to reply to any emails or approve comments until January.

Happy holidays, Merry Christmas and fabulous New Year 2008 to all of our visitors! We really love working on the site and appreciate your support a lot. We can’t wait to see what 2008 will bring to Abbie - and you can be sure that we’ll be here to cover it every step of the way. :D

Compiled by the Abbie Cornish Online staff. Please feel free to post your own choices here. ;)

Best news:
Riikka says: The announcement of Abbie starring in Jane Campion’s Bright Star and Abbie’s work with Animal Club.

Mycah says: Learning Abbie graced the NY Times T Style magazine cover! So exciting to see (and for me, buy) one her first major covers - and man on man, what a shoot!

Worst news:
Both agree: Hands down - all of the Ryan Phillippe gossip and the online flaming that was targeted towards Abbie.
