Better late than never, as they say! Today I went through the special features of the Bright Star UK DVD, which feature a documentary, featurette, deleted scenes and more. I’ve uploaded screencaps of the footage that features Abbie. I shall be working on video clips of these in the near future so stay tuned for that!

David Riker’s The Girl has completed its eight week shoot and is now in the post-production state. Following the exciting news, we also bring you the first look at Abbie’s character, Ashley Colton. The still features Abbie with Maritza Santigo Hernandez as Rosa.

Axiom Films is thrilled to announce that The Girl, written and directed by David Riker (writer and director of award-winning La Ciudad), starring Abbie Cornish, Will Patton and introducing Maritza Santigo Hernandez as Rosa, has wrapped principal photography in Austin, Texas after an eight week shoot which commenced on 9 May. In addition to shooting in Austin, the film was also shot on location in Oaxaca, Mexico.

The film is produced by Paul Mezey’s Journeyman Pictures and co-produced by Douglas Cummins for producer / distributor Axiom Films with Christian Valdelievre and Tania Zarak. Philipp Engelhorn of Cinereach Films and Nick Quested of Goldcrest Films are executive producers.

The Girl is shot by award-winning cinematographer Martín Boege, edited by Malcolm Jamieson, and the production design is by multi-award winning Salvador Parra.

The Girl tells the story of Ashley Colton (Cornish), a desperate young mother who tries unsuccessfully to turn her life around by smuggling immigrants across the dangerous border between Texas and Mexico—a trade she learns from her hard-living father, Tommy (Patton).

When this quick money scheme fails horribly, she unwillingly ends up travelling across Mexico with a newly orphaned eight-year-old girl from Oaxaca (Hernandez) — embarking on a journey that will change her life forever.

We’re in for more treats! Abbie Cornish is on the cover of two more magazines! First up is Los Angeles Confidential‘s Spring issue – what a fun and flirty springy shoot! And Abbie looks super sexy on the cover of Esquire‘s UK May issue. Esquire scans should be available when the issue is out for us but if anyone has Los Angeles Confidential, please don’t hesitate to contribute scans!

Held yesterday at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in Los Angeles was the premiere of Sucker Punch. The girls were of course in attendance and our darling lady looked exceptional in an electric blue gown by Amanda Wakeley Spring 2011. She completed her look with sapphire drop earrings and a gold envelope clutch. She looks fantastic in this color. Over 100 medium resolution photos have been added so far. It’s likely more (and hopefully high qualities) will be on their way when possible.
