Somersault DVD Screencaptures

The gallery has been updated with 1800+ high quality screencaptures from Abbie’s first major role; the character of Heidi in Somersault (2004). It is a really fantastic movie and one of Abbie’s best performance to date so do yourself a favor and grab a copy of Somersault ASAP if you have not had the pleasure of seeing it yet!

Finally… We Have a New Layout!

We finally have a fresh design up here at Abbie Cornish Online! The previous design stayed up a lot longer than what we initially intended but one thing lead to another and the layout stayed up for several years. Well, you know the saying – better late than never! We hope you like this new layout that Mycah designed for us, which celebrates Abbie’s many movie roles. The gorgeous photoshoot, which is one of our all time favorites, is from Marie Claire (2007).

All of our pages have been updated and re-done in the process. We have especially made an effort to spruce up the filmography, as we first and foremost admire Abbie’s work as an actress and aim for the site to demonstrate that. The streaming Video Vault is also now back and revamped with plenty of new video additions!

With this update I’ll also announce that I’m officially back as a webmistress here at Abbie Cornish Online. As some of you may have noticed, I’ve been doing a bit of updating here and there these past few months and I have now officially decided to return to the site. This fall will, however, be busy as I head back to the university but Mycah and I will be working together to bring your an often updated and comprehensive fan run source on Miss Cornish.

Bright Star DVD Screencaptures

Finally – 2000+ DVD screencaptures have been added of Abbie Cornish’s spellbinding performance as Fanny Brawne in Jane Campion’s Bright Star. The film, quite simply, is stunning and Abbie’s performance perhaps the strongest of her career to date. I’ll let the images speak for themself – hope you like them!

On the Set of W.E. – August 1, 2010

Pictures from the set of W.E. from yesterday have been added. Miss Cornish looks fabulous in all black! In the film, Abbie plays the role of Wally Winthrop, a young married New Yorker who is obsessed with the story of King Edward VIII.

Also, thanks to Ann, we have replaced the previous set pictures from back in July with untagged versions.

Sucker Punch Teaser Trailer

The Sucker Punch teaser trailer that was screened at Comic-Con has now been released online in glorious high definition and may be viewed at Apple.com. I have added two photos of Abbie Cornish and James D’Arcy on the set of Madonna’s W.E. in London, England on July 25, 2010. Abbie, dressed head-to-toe in black, looks gorgeous and classy as the character of Wally Winthrop.

Sucker Punch Character Posters!

Check out these awesome character posters for Sucker Punch! We get a nice look at a very cool Sweet Pea. At the least this film will be great to see a totally different kind of role for Abbie Cornish! I’m pretty excited!

Set in the 1950s, Sucker Punch follows Babydoll who is confined to a mental institution by her stepfather, who intends to have her lobotomized in five days. While there, she imagines an alternative reality to hide her from the pain, and in that world, she begins planning her escape, needing to steal five objects to help get her out before she is deflowered by a vile man.

Abbie Cornish for Maticevski

Abbie is featured in the Spring/Summer 2010 ad campaign for Maticevski, Melbourne-based fashion house, whom she has worn to premieres and events several times in the past. She looks so stunning in the ad and it is nice to see her modeling for a lesser known Australian label.

First Look at Sucker Punch!

Check out our very first look at the ladies of Sucker Punch, including Abbie Cornish as Sweetpea! Pretty awesome! I hope we’ll get a better quality version of this photo soon. It is featured in the new issue of Entertainment Weekly so if anyone’s able to scan that for us, please do get in touch.

Zack Snyder returns to Comic-Con with a film that blends action, rich visuals, and (yes!) scantily clad babes. The film follows Babydoll (Emily Browning), whose abusive stepfather sends her to an insane asylum where she imagines an alternative reality that comes to life, complete with dragons, zombie soldiers, steampunk sci-fi, and monolithic mecha. (Warner Bros.; March 25, 2011)

Activision E3 2010 Preview

Miss Abbie attended the Activision E3 2010 Preview a week back, on June 14. As you may notice, her locks are now long and back to a darker color – perhaps to prepare for the role of Wally Winthrop in W.E.? Personally, I think Abbie looks absolutely ravishing with dark hair! According to reports, Abbie hung out with Sucker Punch co-star Vanessa Hudgens at the event.

Oh no, Vanessa was totally grinding with…

Abbie Cornish! The woman arrived at Staples solo, but she met up with Vanessa and Brittany Snow inside the show.

“Vanessa and Abbie were dancing and holding hands during the concert, having a great time,” onlookers tell us.

Abbie’s representative has confirmed to us that Abbie has no official Twitter or Facebook account. I know there are quite a few fake accounts out there pretending to be Abbie so please do not think you are interacting with her if you see someone go by Abbie’s name at a social networking site.

Talk Show Screencaps

Back in January of this year Abbie Cornish appeared in two American talk shows to promote the DVD release of Bright Star; Jimmy Kimmel Live! (January 5, 2010) and The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson (January 21, 2010). These were Abbie’s first major US talk show appearances and I LOVED both of these interviews! Jimmy Kimmel showed an old clip of Abbie rapping with Blades and some of the graffiti art that she’s done and she seemed to have a ton of fun with Craig Ferguson. Again, videos of both will be added once the video vault is back. Meanwhile, enjoy these HQ screencaps!

I’ve uploaded high quality photos of Abbie kicking some ass on the set of The Dark Fields on April 1 and March 31. It appears that in one of the scenes her character Lindy uses a little girl on skates as a weapon – pretty cool! Looks like this will be a whole new type of role for Abbie.

Images have now been uploaded in the gallery of Miss Abbie attending Metropolitan Museum of Art’s 2010 Costume Institute Ball last month. She wore a gorgeous eletric blue Louis Vuitton dress with Jimmy Choo shoes. I just adore this look on Abbie – she looked like a million dollars!

Project Pages Updated

A quick hello from Riikka, the co-founder of the site! I’m currently working on bringing the content of Abbie-Cornish.com up-to-date as it hasn’t been updated in quite a while.

I started by doing updates on the projects section. Film pages have been added for W.E. and The Dark Fields, Abbie’s two new films, and the information on Sucker Punch and Bright Star has been updated.

I also updated the Awards & Nominations page with details on the awards Abbie was nominated in 2010 and 2009 as well as updated the Rumored Projects with some details on Wuthering Heights, the film that Abbie dropped out of last year.

Met 2010 Costume Institute Ball – First Look

Last night in New York city, Abbie Cornish was among the bevy of celebrities attending American Woman: Fashioning A National Identity aka this year’s Metropolitan Museum Of Art’s Costume Institute Ball. Abbie looked stunning on the red carpet in a navy blue gown. More photos and likely outfit information will follow later!

Over the weekend Abbie attended more events at the 9th Annual Tribeca Film Festival and I wasn’t able to update until now.

On April 28, she dressed up for the Chanel Dinner and the following day attended the awards night. Abbie looked stunning at both events!
