WME has signed Australian actress Abbie Cornish, who began taking meetings with the major agencies over the past two weeks. Cornish just finished filming Seven Pychopaths, directed by Martin McDonagh with Colin Farrell and Woody Harrelson. Cornish will next appear in the indie film The Girl, and currently stars in the Madonna-directed W.E. She previously starred in Jane Campion’s critically-acclaimed Bright Star, and The Golden Age. Cornish is managed by Michael Lazo at Untitled Entertainment. WME already bolstered its actress ranks today by signing Dakota and Elle Fanning.

Abbie Cornish is set to give a welcome female boost to Martin McDonagh’s Seven Psychopaths.
The Sucker Punch star will be joining former Bond girl Olga Kurylenko in the male-dominated cast, which already includes Colin Farrell, Christopher Walken, Tom Waits, Sam Rockwell and Woody Harrelson, reported the New York Daily News.
The 29-year-old Australian actress is said to be playing Kaya, the girlfriend of Colin’s character.
The twisty tale focuses on unemployed actor and part-time dog thief Billy (Sam), who wants to help his best friend, struggling screenwriter Marty – played by Colin – by any means necessary.

The 28-year-old Australian actress has been dubbed one of Hollywood’s rising stars, appearing in movies such as Limitless and action thriller Sucker Punch. Even though Abbie is carving out a successful film career, she has expressed an interest in music. The star loves to rap and goes by the name of Dusk when she is with her crew, which is led by her ex-boyfriend Kid Lyrical. Although Abbie has performed in Australia, she dreams of showing off her musical talents in the US and might even make a record.
“I would love to play here in LA too. And record an album,” she said in an interview with Esquire. “I think it’s just a timing thing. I’m so focused on movies right now.”
Abbie is no stranger to music and has been a fan of hip-hop for many years. She often finds herself penning song lyrics at all times of the day and finds the process therapeutic. However, Abbie writes so many lyrics she sometimes struggles to find enough paper to record her thoughts on.
New outtakes from Abbie’s GQ feature in the April issue have been published online. Another fabulous shoot! Enjoy!
