Jane Campion’s Bright Star has made the official selection for the 2009 Cannes Film Festival!

The festival runs May 13-24 and hopefully Abbie will be in attendance at the film’s premieres and photocalls!

We are certainly being treated to a lot of Abbie Cornish out and about lately! And yesterday Abbie stepped out to the Los Angeles premiere of Watchmen, which opens in theatres this Friday. She looked very pretty in a simple black dress on the yellow carpet. View 46 photos from the event!

Abbie is going to be featured in the upcoming, March issue of Harper’s Bazaar Australia. The Daily Telegraph got a peek of the spread, with a photo included and it surely sounds incredible! One of the photos you can already seen now, looks amazing. Miss Cornish looks so beautiful! I can not wait to see the rest!

She’s billed as one of Hollywood’s hottest but a recent photo shoot became a little too smokin’ for Abbie Cornish.

The LA-based actress was caught out when fire crews arrived at the penthouse suite of Justin Hemmes’ The Ivy as she was shooting for a photo spread for this month’s Harper’s Bazaar.

An overzealous smoke machine wheeled into the bathroom for a steamy shower scene set alarms off and fire engines to arrive at the George St complex.

When firemen burst into the bathroom to attack the blaze they were greeted by Cornish dressed in just black Prada underwear and Gucci sunglasses.

The 26-year-old actress has also revealed that she’s not about to return home soon, with her growing relationship with US actor Ryan Phillippe keeping her in LA.

“If I wasn’t in love with him I’d be on the road travelling,” she said.

Abbie and Ryan Phillippe attended the Vanity Fair Oscar after party, yesterday in Hollywood, California. Miss Cornish looked gorgeous wearing a black, floor length gown velvet gown.

Abbie attended two events in California yesterday evening, the 4th Annual “Oscar Wilde: Honoring The Irish In Film” Awards and the 2009 Australian Academy Awards Nominee Party. Abbie looked absolutely amazing! It’s nice to see her out and about a little lately.
